Position: Windows Systems Administrator - Malibu, CA - Secret clearance re with Security Clearance
Windows Systems Administrator needed for a contract to hire opportunity with SOC's client to work on-site in Malibu, CA.
* An active Secret Clearance is required for the role
* Essential Duties:
* Work with multi-disciplined team members under general supervision
* Provide a friendly and professional point of contact for customers
* Perform independent troubleshooting of complex incidents
* Perform a multi-disciplined range of technical system and application activities
* Install, configure, and maintain multiplatform systems hardware, software, and components
* Administer and manage Windows and Linux systems in the operations, engineering, analysis, and test environments
* Administer installation of software, hardware, file system management, backups, process control, user administration, and device management
* Resolve a wide variety of complex system failures, troubleshooting software, hardware, and network problems
* Perform system and user account maintenance
* Test and assess security configuration of Windows servers
* Monitor, evaluate, and optimize system performance
* Analyze, test, and implement security patches and hardening
* Document maintenance & ticketing actions
* Develop and promote standard operating procedures and conduct routine hardware and software audits of servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines
* If required, assist in IT security incident response and documentation

Required Skills:

* Experience in Windows systems administration
* Understanding of multiplatform system hardening (e.g., DISA STIG, SCAP)
* Strong understanding of VMware vSphere virtual environments
* Experience with scripting for task automation (e.g., Power Shell, Batch, BASH)
* Proficient knowledge of cyber security technology and trends (e.g., Tenable, McAfee, Splunk)
* Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (e.g., switching, routing, firewalls, load balancing)
* Experience with system monitoring & alerting tools (e.g., Nagios)
* Experience working within an accredited system
* Ability to work independently & in a team environment
* An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance Preferred

Skills:

* Ideally 4-7 year of experience in a related Admin role
* A Top Secret/SCI security clearance with in-scope polygraph is preferred
* Experience in multiplatform systems administration (Windows and Linux) is desired
* Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 configuration, management, and troubleshooting
* Understanding of Group Policy management
* Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (8,
9)
* Some experience with SAN management (e.g., Net App, Dell Unity, HPE Green Lake)
* Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (i.e., Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops)
* Exchange Server 2019 configuration, management, and troubleshooting
* Experience with systems management and automation software e.g., (Endpoint Configuration Manager, Satellite, Ansible, Systems Center Orchestrator)
* Experience in multiplatform environments (Windows and Linux)
