• Provide psychiatric services to inmate patients, including evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of psychotropic medications.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure uniformity of mental‑health services and proper documentation.
• Provide supervision and oversight to psychiatric nurses (if applicable) and deliver consultation/training to mental‑health and medical staff.
• Participate in involuntary medication of high‑risk inmates and document psychiatric service contacts as required.
• Exercise independent medical judgment in diagnosis and treatment of patients while adhering to the approved medication formulary.

• Doctorate in psychiatry.
• Training and experience providing psychiatric services to an adult population.

• Physician licensed to practice medicine in the state of employment.
• Board‑certified or board‑eligible in psychiatry.
• CPR certified.
