** The Role
** We are seeking an experienced
** Grade 2 Dietitian
** to join our weekend and public holiday dietetics service on a casual basis. In this role, you will work independently and apply specialist-level clinical knowledge across key areas, including
** critical care (ICU)
** and
** gastrointestinal surgery**.Our dietetics service operates
** seven days per week**, with weekend and public holiday shifts consisting of
** 4-hour services on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays**. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute meaningfully to patient care while maintaining flexibility.
** How you will make an impact:
** You will play a vital role in improving patient outcomes by delivering high-quality, evidence-based nutrition care. Your expertise will support personalised nutrition planning, patient education, and collaborative care within multidisciplinary teams.
Key responsibilities:
* Assess patients’ nutritional needs and develop individualised care plans
* Provide nutrition education and counselling to patients and families
* Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
* Contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives
* Maintain contemporary knowledge of nutrition and dietetics best practice
** About you
** You are a passionate and experienced Dietitian with strong clinical expertise and a patient-centred approach. You communicate effectively, work well autonomously, and thrive in a multidisciplinary environment.
You will have:
* Minimum
** 3 years’ post-graduate experience
** in an acute healthcare setting
* Demonstrated experience in
** ICU and gastrointestinal surgery**
* ** Master’s degree in Dietetics**
* ** Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD)
** status with Dietitians Australia
* Leadership experience within a specialised clinical area
* Strong commitment to evidence-based practice, innovation, and ongoing professional development
