How You Make a DifferenceThe Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in patient care by contributing to the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation under RN supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Under RN supervision, assess patients' physical, psychological, and social dimensions and contribute to individualized treatment planning.
- Implement treatment programs directed by health care practitioners, including medication administration, IV therapy (if certified), and diagnostic tests.
- Collaborate in controlled substance counts and adhere to safety procedures during emergencies.
- Assist in medical or minor surgical procedures, nutrition and therapeutic diet plans, and document nursing encounters with SOAP charting.
- Attend mandatory staff meetings and training sessions, demonstrating commitment to continuous development.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Minimum of one year of clinic experience preferable.
- Maintain current licensure as a Licensed Practical/Licensed Vocational Nurse within the state of employment.
- Must have and be able to obtain CPR certification.
