Job Summary

The Food Preparation Supervisor at the Arkansas Department of Correction (ADC) / Department of Community Correction (DCC) is responsible for supervising food service personnel, directing food service activities, monitoring safety and security practices, coordinating food production and service, and managing supplies. This role is governed by applicable laws and policies.

Key Functions
  • Supervises food production and service staff, including hiring, assigning work, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Researches laws and procedural updates; provides in-service training on policies and procedures.
  • Prepares and cooks various foods, including for special events.
  • Ensures food quality and safety standards are met by inspecting raw and cooked foods, supplies, and storage areas.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of supervisory practices and food service operations.
  • Ability to motivate and develop staff, and to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to monitor operations, ensure compliance with regulations, and provide guidance to staff.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, plus specialized training in food service, and at least one year of experience in institutional or commercial food service operations. Additional qualifications may be considered upon approval.
