The Clinical Informatics Nurse Specialist coordinates the implementation and support of clinical information systems throughout the organization. They work closely with clinical and IT team members to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of solutions deployed in support of management goals. They collaborate with department managers and supervisors to identify workflow requirements, develop training materials, and provide training for new users.
What You'll Do- Responsible for nursing workflow design, maintenance, and changes related to clinical information systems.
- Provide day‑to‑day administration of clinical information systems.
- Act as primary contact between hospital users and software vendors.
- Provide technical guidance and assistance to physicians and staff as required.
- Offer primary and secondary support for hospital‑owned software or application systems, defining systems and special programs as needed.
- Initially troubleshoot EMR complaints and work toward timely resolution using vendor support, Internet, or local expertise.
- Provide training—individual or group—for hospital personnel to use technology productively.
- Evaluate departmental processes with department SMEs/SUs to measure user expectations and satisfaction, and recommend improvements.
- Recommend and assist department managers in creating end‑user policies and procedures for applicable software modules.
- Implement, update, and maintain file maintenance for optimal user performance.

- Good multitasker.
- Associate’s degree required;
Bachelor’s preferred. - 3–5 years of Cerner/Community Works experience preferred.
- 5+ years of hospital clinical experience required.
- State of California nursing license required.
- Demonstrated project‑management, leadership, and communication skills in a team environment.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work with little supervision in a fast‑paced environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Project required.
- Experience with clinical reporting and tools like Crystal Reports highly desirable.
- Experience in adult education in the clinical environment.
- Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures.
- Full‑time position, day shifts.
- Starting wage $54.61 to $66.19 based on experience and qualifications.
