Registered Nurse - PASS; Per Diem

The PASS Department Registered Nurse initiates a plan of care based on identified medical and nursing diagnoses, which is consistent with knowledge of illnesses, injuries, diseases, human behavior, and outlined standards of care. The RN directs and coordinates with other departments and ancillary personnel to provide a safe environment and a high standard of quality care. The RN ensures that all preoperative paperwork, orders, and patient care are completed following the PASS Center flow model and anesthesia pre‑op testing guidelines.

• Coordinate with anesthesia providers to deliver timely case information.
• Coordinate required consultations with hospitalists.
• Receive and review labs, images, tests, and medical history promptly.
• Relay information to the proper provider and receive decisions in a timely manner.
• Make independent decisions regarding what information to relay to whom and when.
• Participate in care coordination (focus on Total Joint patients).
• Address post‑care concerns.
• Provide pertinent information to appropriate parties.
• Coordinate with PACU for surgical patients.
• Assess all patients according to specific anesthesia guidelines set forth by the Anesthesiology Department.
• Perform surgical preoperative nursing assessment, whether in person PASS visits or by telephone (entering data into the electronic health record; scheduling labs, tests, and PAT visits per anesthesia guidelines).
• Ensure add‑on pre‑op assessments are completed.

• State of California Registered Nurse license required.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification required.

• Per diem, varied, day shifts.
• Starting wage $55.68 to $67.49 based on qualifications.
