Role Description

The Assistant Accountant will support the finance team with day‑to‑day accounting operations in a full‑time, on‑site role located in Market. Responsibilities include recording daily transactions, maintaining ledgers, and assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities. The role involves preparing basic financial reports, supporting month‑end and year‑end closing processes, and helping reconcile bank statements and other accounts. The Assistant Accountant will assist in organizing financial records, ensuring compliance with internal controls and relevant regulations, and responding to routine queries from internal stakeholders, auditors, or clients.

This role will also collaborate with senior accountants to support budgeting, forecasting, and ad‑hoc financial tasks as needed.

Qualifications
  • Foundational knowledge of accounting principles, including double‑entry bookkeeping, general ledger maintenance, and basic financial statements.
  • Ability to manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, payment tracking, and basic reconciliations.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Zoho, or similar) and strong skills in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and the ability to organize and maintain financial records effectively.
  • Good analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies and assist in resolving variances.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team‑based environment.
  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt to new processes, and support multiple tasks and deadlines in a structured and reliable manner.
  • Prior experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role (internship or junior position) is an advantage but not strictly required.
