AECOM is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for mechanical, electrical and plumbing work in Manama, Bahrain, in its post-contract cost consultancy business. The surveyor will prepare bills of quantities and cost estimates for MEP systems, analyse specifications, drawings and technical documents to quantify materials and labour, and monitor costs through all phases of construction.
The posting covers the management of contract documentation, including variations, claims and change orders on MEP packages, together with cost reports and financial forecasts for the project's stakeholders and management. Site inspections and measurement to verify quantities, analysis of tender documents and cost comparisons to support vendor selection, and compliance with construction standards applicable in Bahrain complete the role.
Applicants need a quantity surveying or engineering degree and three to five years or more of professional experience as a quantity surveyor with a specific MEP focus. AECOM asks for knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and their cost implications, experience preparing bills of quantities, estimates and financial analysis, and a solid understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes and contract management.
The posting states the candidate should be working towards MRICS.
