Draftsman Role Summary
The Draftsman is responsible for translating engineering designs and architectural concepts into detailed, scaled technical drawings, including shop drawings and as-built plans. This position is crucial for providing the necessary graphical instructions to the site team and ensuring that construction proceeds accurately according to design intent.
CoreDuties & Responsibilities (Briefs)
Drawing Production: Create, modify, and finalize detailed technical drawings and shop drawings for construction purposes using CAD software.
Design Conversion: Convert rough sketches, specifications, and design notes provided by engineers or architects into complete, dimensionally accurate drawings.
Revision Management: Ensure all drawings adhere to the project's version control standards, updating drawings promptly to reflect any changes or revisions issued.
As-Built Documentation: Prepare final "as-built" drawings that accurately document the constructed state of the project, including any field modifications.
Coordination: Coordinate with Site Engineers and Project Engineers to ensure drawings are constructible, clash-free, and correctly reflect site conditions.
Standard Compliance: Ensure all drawings comply with relevant drafting standards, codes, and company specifications.
Experience: Proven professional experience as a Draftsman, typically requiring 3+ years of experience in construction, architecture, or engineering projects.
Technical Proficiency: Expert proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory) and proficiency in related design software like Revit or Micro Station is a strong asset.
Design Interpretation: Exceptional ability to read, interpret, and accurately translate engineering blueprints and technical specifications.
Accuracy & Detailing: Meticulous attention to dimensional accuracy and the production of highly detailed, scaled drawings.
