Interior Designer

Company overview:
We specialize in furniture design and production and seek an Interior Designer to join a compact, hands-on team.

• Meet with clients to understand project requirements, site constraints, budget and style preferences.
• Develop concept designs, space plans, detailed furniture layouts and material/finish specifications.
• Produce clear drawings, measured plans and work-ready shop drawings for carpentry and upholstery teams.
• Coordinate with workshop staff and supervisors to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective and executed to specification.
• Oversee showroom presentations, advise customers on product selection, finishes and custom options.
• Supervise on-site installations and deliveries; ensure quality control, proper fit and finish and client satisfaction.
• Manage project timelines, update clients on progress and maintain accurate documentation of revisions, orders and warranties.

• Proven experience in interior or furniture design with demonstrable portfolio of completed projects.
• Drafting: proficiency producing measured drawings, floor plans and shop drawings for carpentry and upholstery (CAD or similar).
• Materials & methods: knowledge of materials, finishes, joinery techniques and upholstery methods used in furniture production.
• Workshop experience: practical understanding of production constraints, tolerances and finishing processes.
• Client-facing skills: consultation, product presentation, quoting and post-sale support in a showroom setting.
• Installation supervision: ability to supervise on-site installations and coordinate delivery teams.
• Project management: time management, project documentation and basic cost estimating for customized furniture.
• Software literacy: CAD or similar drafting tools and basic design visualization skills.
