The Assistant Professor of Orthodontics will contribute to academic teaching, clinical training, and curriculum development within the dental and allied health education programs. Day-to-day responsibilities include delivering lectures, seminars, and practical sessions in orthodontics; supervising learners in pre-clinical and clinical settings; and assessing learner performance through exams, assignments, and clinical evaluations. The role involves designing and updating course materials, participating in academic committees, contributing to research and scholarly activities, and supporting quality assurance and accreditation processes.
The Assistant Professor will also provide academic advising, mentor learners, and collaborate with multidisciplinary faculty to advance the Center’s educational standards. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Manama.
- Advanced academic qualifications in orthodontics or dental specialties (e.g., Master’s or Doctoral degree, board certification) and current professional registration in good standing.
- M Orth / F Orth from RCSEd is a must
- Demonstrated expertise in orthodontic diagnosis, treatment planning, and clinical procedures, with experience supervising pre-clinical and clinical training in an academic or teaching hospital setting.
- Proficiency in curriculum design, instructional planning, and assessment methods, including development of lectures, practical sessions, and competency-based evaluation tools.
- Strong teaching, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse learner groups and provide constructive feedback and academic mentoring.
- Experience with education quality assurance, accreditation standards, and alignment of programs with national and international regulatory requirements.
- Commitment to research and scholarly activity in orthodontics or dental education, including participation in publications, conferences, or academic projects.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary faculty environment, demonstrate professional ethics, and contribute to institutional initiatives and committees.
- Relevant experience in the GCC or international healthcare education settings and familiarity with Bahrain’s regulatory bodies (such as NHRA) are considered an advantage.
