Librarian

We are currently seeking a contract Librarian to join our team in Manama As a contract Librarian you will work on a short-term basis with our library providing essential services to our patrons This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about books and information management and is looking for a temporary role in the library field

• Assist patrons with locating and checking out materials
• Answer reference questions and provide information on library resources
• Organize and maintain library collections including shelving books and other materials
• Catalog new materials using the Dewey Decimal System or other classification methods
• Assist with planning and implementing library programs and events
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop displays and promote library services
• Maintain accurate records of library circulation usage and inventory

• Bachelors degree in Library Science or related field preferred
• Proficient knowledge of cataloging systems such as Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress classification
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Passion for books reading and promoting literacy

This is a contract position with a salary of $1700 per month

This position is located in Manama the capital city of Bahrain It offers a vibrant mix of modern amenities cultural attractions and historical sites
