Librarian

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Librarian to join our team in Manama, Bahrain. The ideal candidate will have a passion for books and knowledge, as well as excellent organizational and communication skills.

• Manage the library collection by cataloging, shelving, and maintaining inventory
• Assist patrons in locating materials and providing reference services
• Develop and implement library programs and events
• Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into lesson plans
• Maintain the library's physical space and ensure it is clean and inviting for patrons
• Stay up-to-date on new books, materials, and technology relevant to the library's collection
• Train and supervise library assistants or volunteers
• Promote literacy and a love of reading through outreach initiatives

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
• Previous experience working in a library or educational setting preferred
• Strong knowledge of cataloging systems and library databases
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
• Familiarity with current technology used in libraries (e.g. digital catalogs, e-books)
• Biometric passport required for international travel (accommodation provided)

Salary: $1400 per month (includes accommodation)
