What You Will Do
- Test proper operation and repair of power generation and power frequency converter equipment in support of technical assistance.
- Participate in inspection and repair of the MEIs.
- Advise on preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS).
- Perform advisory duties for maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, fault isolation, and testing of diesel generators, including 15kw 400
Hz, 30kw 400
Hz, and 150kw 400
Hz units. - Advise on all levels of diesel generator maintenance, from field to sustainment maintenance.
- Assist with installation of generator sets and power frequency converters for system equipment.
- Support testing, operation, and repair of all power generation and power conversion equipment, such as frequency converters.
- Interface with manufacturers of power generation and power conversion equipment as required.
- Perform Preventive Maintenance Checks Services (PMCS) and troubleshoot and repair generators that support the Patriot system.
- Coordinate PMCS and repair activities with the Lead, create 2404 reports, and enter non‑conformance into Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (iMRO).
- Work at the Manama, Bahrain location.
- Graduate of the US Army Mast and Electric Power Plant Maintenance (ASI C9) course and the US Army Power Generation Equipment Repairer MOS 52D or 91D, or graduate of a technical school or manufacturer’s course on diesel power generation equipment.
- Possess work experience in troubleshooting, fault isolation, disassembly, repair, assembly, and checkout of power generation equipment.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in repair and refurbishment of generators with a working knowledge of 15kw 400
Hz, 30kw 400
Hz, and 150kw 400
Hz diesel generators. - Demonstrated basic knowledge of organizational and intermediate electrical troubleshooting techniques for diesel generators.
- Knowledge of safe work practices for operation and sustainment of electrical power generation equipment.
- Experience with operation and maintenance procedures for power generation of frequency converters.
- Establish maintenance and repair schedules based on equipment schedules, parts availability, tools, personnel, and unit mission.
- Develop internal administrative procedures to procure, store, and issue publications, tools, parts, and POL.
- Manage maintenance float items to replace equipment not repairable within prescribed time limits.
- Capable of lifting 50 pounds and working in extreme desert heat environments.
- Bachelor’s Degree with 4 years of related experience.
- Associate’s Degree with 8 years of related experience.
- High School Diploma/GED with 12 years of related experience.
- Secret Security Clearance is required.
