Stantec is currently looking for Civil Inspectors to support a construction supervision project that involves stormwater & drainage, flood alleviation, wastewater networks, and water distribution networks. Duties include investigation, planning, design, tendering, contract administration, and construction monitoring.

• Interact with clients and contractor staff to determine and verify project requirements.
• Prepare inspection reports and site records.
• Perform civil and structural tests.
• Provide general inspection on all construction labor and subcontracted tasks to ensure professional workmanship.
• Identify non-conforming works, generate reports and corrective actions, and coordinate responses.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
• Work in conjunction with engineers to solve project design problems, performing basic design calculations as required.
• Conduct technical, feasibility studies and site investigations.
• Liaise with teams working remotely from other parts of the world to facilitate project completion.
• Communicate effectively.
• Build and maintain lasting and positive relationships with internal and external clients.
• Experience in utility diversions and management.
• Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
• Complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.
• Other duties as requested from time to time by the Assistant Resident Engineer.

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or an equivalent degree in Engineering from a recognized institute to the approval of the Engineer.
• Minimum 10 years of work experience.
• Experience in water infrastructure projects is an added advantage.
• Experience in supervising Microtunneling and structural works such as interchange, tunnels, culverts, retaining walls, manholes, and ducts.
