The Senior Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading and managing all maintenance activities across the manufacturing facility to ensure maximum equipment reliability, operational efficiency, safety, and production continuity.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure equipment reliability and operational excellence.
- Lead and manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs across all plant equipment and facilities.
- Ensure timely response and resolution of equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
- Monitor equipment performance and establish maintenance KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
- Oversee maintenance planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Implement reliability‑centered maintenance (RCM) and root cause analysis (RCA) methodologies.
- Analyze equipment failures and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Lead initiatives to improve equipment availability, efficiency, and lifespan.
- Ensure proper maintenance of cable manufacturing equipment, including wire drawing machines, stranding machines, extrusion lines, armoring machines, cabling and laying‑up machines, and testing and quality control equipment.
- Ensure utilities such as compressors, chillers, HVAC systems, generators, and power distribution systems are maintained effectively.
- Lead, mentor, and develop maintenance engineers, supervisors, technicians, and contractors.
- Establish performance objectives and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Identify training needs and ensure continuous technical development.
- Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork.
- Prepare and manage the annual maintenance budget.
- Control maintenance costs while ensuring equipment reliability and safety.
- Monitor spare parts inventory and optimize stock levels.
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts with external service providers and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and local regulatory requirements.
- Promote safe maintenance practices and enforce lockout–tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Support audits, inspections, and certification requirements.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards and other applicable industry regulations.
- Lead plant maintenance‑related capital projects, upgrades, and equipment installations.
- Coordinate with production, engineering, procurement, and quality departments.
- Participate in commissioning and start‑up activities for new machinery and production lines.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related discipline;
Master’s degree is an advantage. - Professional certifications such as CMRP, PMP, or Maintenance Management certifications are preferred.
- Minimum 10‑15 years of maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment.
- At least 5 years in a senior maintenance leadership role.
- Experience in cable manufacturing, metals, heavy industry, or continuous‑process manufacturing is highly preferred.
- Proven experience managing large maintenance teams and complex industrial assets.
