Our client, a leading bank in Bahrain, is seeking an experienced Financial Institutions Treasury Dealer to join its Treasury function. The role is responsible for building and managing relationships with financial institution counter parties to support the Bank’s funding, liquidity, and balance sheet management objectives.
The incumbent will focus on onboarding new bank counter parties, establishing and maintaining money market credit lines, and supporting liquidity dealers in the sourcing and execution of short-term and long-term bilateral funding transactions and other balance sheet management activities.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bahrain
, offering the opportunity to work closely with the Head of Treasury and internal stakeholders across Corporate Banking, Investments, and Debt Capital Markets.
- Identify, onboard, and manage relationships with bank and financial institution counter parties
- Coordinate KYC and all related legal and documentation requirements in partnership with Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Credit teams.
- Act as the primary Treasury point of contact for counter parties on onboarding, funding, and day-to-day operational matters.
- Establish, negotiate, and maintain unsecured and secured money market lines, including interbank deposits, call accounts, long-term bilateral funding, and repo facilities.
- Work closely with Credit Risk to support counter party assessments, limit approvals, and ongoing credit reviews.
- Provide market intelligence on interbank funding conditions, pricing trends, and counter party appetite to support funding decisions.
- Support the Bank’s liquidity management framework, including funding diversification, tenor management, and adherence to internal policies and limits.
- Maintain accurate records of counter party limits, documentation status, and onboarding progress in line with internal standards.
- Develop and maintain a strong network of treasury contacts in local and international markets to raise the Bank’s profile and create opportunities for product and balance sheet growth.
- Quote competitive prices on traded treasury products to the Bank’s clients and other financial institutions within delegated limits.
- Ensure adherence to delegated trading authorities, counter party limits, and risk parameters at all times.
- Provide clients and senior management with timely market information, under the supervision of the Head of Treasury.
- Assist in managing the end-to-end process of booking all treasury products, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal procedures.
- Escalate and report any suspected security violations or incidents related to systems or networks to the Risk Management function.
- Perform additional assignments and duties related to Treasury as may be directed by the Head of Treasury, and act as backup for other Treasury dealers when required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience within a bank treasury or Financial Institutions department, ideally across liquidity desk, money markets, or FI dealing roles.
- Preferably holds a professional qualification such as CFA, CIMA, ACI Dealing or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of treasury systems (e.g. Reuters, Bloomberg) and treasury products, with awareness of latest market technologies and practices.
- Preferably a native Arabic speaker, with strong proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modelling.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with a strong track record in counter party management.
