Job Description About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Portfolio & Options Risk Analyst to join a high-performing private investment office managing a concentrated technology-focused equity portfolio with an active options strategy. This is a unique opportunity to work directly alongside the Principal as the primary analytical and risk partner, contributing to portfolio construction, derivatives oversight, and investment decision-making. The successful candidate will play a key role in the firm's long-term vision of evolving into a licensed Single Family Office.
Key ResponsibilitiesAct as the independent risk counterweight by identifying downside risks and challenging investment assumptions through rigorous analysis.
Build and maintain quantitative stress-testing models covering market drawdowns, volatility expansion, liquidity events, and macroeconomic scenarios.
Perform deep fundamental analysis on concentrated equity positions to identify thesis risks.
Manage and optimize short-options strategies, including roll decisions, Greeks monitoring, and portfolio restructuring.
Oversee Interactive Brokers (IBKR) Portfolio Margin utilization, maintenance requirements, buying power, and liquidity management.
Assess macroeconomic developments, geopolitical events, and sector trends for portfolio impact.
Evaluate investment ideas before implementation and ensure analytical rigor.
Identify relative value opportunities and volatility mispricing across equities and options markets.
Desired Candidate Profile Candidate Requirements4-7 years of institutional experience in investment management, derivatives trading, treasury, asset management, hedge funds, or sophisticated family offices.
Candidates with 8-10 years of experience who remain technically hands-on are also encouraged to apply.
Proven experience managing short-options strategies through periods of significant market volatility.
Strong understanding of Portfolio Margin mechanics, options Greeks, and derivatives risk management.
Experience with Interactive Brokers (IBKR) Portfolio Margin is highly desirable.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or another quantitative discipline.
FRM qualification is preferred.
Strong analytical, quantitative, and independent decision-making abilities.
