AX Coin (a member of AXG) is the first and only licensed stablecoin issuer under the regulation of the Central Bank of Bahrain.We are looking for a talented Internal Auditor who will be responsible for independently and objectively assessing the effectiveness of the Company's internal controls, risk management, and governance processes, ensuring compliance with CBB regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role shall report functionally to the Board Audit Committee to ensure that audit independence is not compromised by management.
Key Responsibilities 1. Audit Planning and Execution- Develop an annual risk-based audit plan and submit it to the Board Audit Committee for approval.
- Execute audit engagements, including preparing audit programmes, conducting fieldwork, gathering audit evidence and preparing working papers.
- Assess the adequacy of internal control design and the effectiveness of their operation, identifying control deficiencies and risk exposures.
- Conduct specialised audits in key business areas (including but not limited to: crypto asset transactions, client fund management, AML/CTF, IT systems, financial reporting).
- Prepare audit reports clearly articulating findings, risk implications, root causes and remediation recommendations.
- Present audit results to the Board Audit Committee, including material risks, control deficiencies and management remediation progress.
- Follow up on audit findings, verify the effectiveness of remediation measures, and report unresolved matters to the Audit Committee.
- Assess the Company's compliance with CBB laws, regulations and module requirements.
- Independently verify remediation measures arising from regulatory examinations.
- Assess the effectiveness of the Company's risk management framework, including risk identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting processes.
- Assess the effectiveness of governance processes, including Board and committee operations, delegation mechanisms and segregation of duties.
- Provide independent opinions on internal control design prior to the launch of new businesses, products or systems.
- Coordinate with external auditors and CBB examinations to ensure information sharing and efficiency.
- Perform other audit or investigation tasks as requested by the Company.
1. Education and Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Audit, Business or a related field.
- At least one of the following professional qualifications: CIA, CISA, ACCA, CPA, ACA/FCA or CFA. Additional certification in audit and crypto asset/fintech is preferred.
- 5-7 years of internal audit or external audit experience.
- Experience in financial services (banking, investment firms, insurance or crypto assets) is preferred. Experience in a CBB-regulated environment is preferred.
- In-depth understanding of internal audit standards and methodologies (IIA Standards).
- Familiarity with risk management frameworks and internal control frameworks (COSO, COBIT, etc.).
- Knowledge of the CBB regulatory framework and applicable laws, regulations and module requirements.
- Basic knowledge of the crypto asset industry and crypto-specific risks.
- Familiarity with AML/CTF requirements and sanctions screening processes.
- Knowledge of IFRS and applicable accounting standards.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information, identify root causes and propose practical solutions.
- Good written and verbal communication skills are required, including the ability to present to the Board.
- Capability to exercise independent judgement and act without undue management influence.
- Familiarity with data analytics tools and audit software; IT systems audit experience is preferred.
- Fluency in Arabic and English is required.

3. - Strong ability to work across time zones, handle pressure, adapt to a fast-paced, high-standard working environment.
- Strong sense of responsibility and efficient execution, and demonstrate a strong willingness to respond promptly to work requirements.
