Investment Manager

1. Role Purpose

The Investment Manager is responsible for managing client portfolios and investment strategies in accordance with the firm’s investment mandate, risk appetite, and CBB regulatory requirements. The role involves portfolio construction, ongoing monitoring, research, client reporting, and supporting the firm’s investment advisory and discretionary management activities under the Category 2 license.

• Manage discretionary and/or advisory client portfolios in line with agreed investment objectives, risk profiles, and mandates.
• Construct and rebalance portfolios across asset classes (equities, fixed income, funds, alternatives, etc.) consistent with the firm’s investment process.
• Conduct thorough investment research, fundamental analysis, and due diligence on securities, funds, and investment opportunities.
• Monitor portfolio performance, risk exposures, and attribution analysis on an ongoing basis.
• Implement investment decisions efficiently and in accordance with best execution principles.

• Prepare high-quality investment reports, performance updates, and market commentaries for clients.
• Participate in client meetings and present investment recommendations and portfolio reviews.
• Ensure all investment advice and recommendations are suitable and documented in accordance with CBB Business Conduct (Module BC) requirements.
• Support the onboarding of new clients from an investment perspective.

• Ensure all investment activities comply with the firm’s internal investment policies, risk limits, and CBB regulations.
• Monitor portfolio risk metrics and elevate breaches or concerns to senior management and the Compliance function.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of investment decisions, research, and client communications.
• Support the Compliance Officer in meeting regulatory obligations related to investment management activities.

• Stay informed of market developments, macroeconomic trends, and investment opportunities relevant to the firm’s strategies.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of the firm’s investment process and strategies.
• Prepare internal investment committee materials and contribute to investment decision-making forums.

• Depending on the nature of the role, this position may constitute a Controlled Function (e.g., Investment Adviser / Investment Consultant or Head of Function) requiring CBB Approved Person status.
• Must continuously satisfy the CBB’s fit-and-proper criteria where applicable.
• Must adhere to all relevant CBB modules, particularly Business Conduct (BC), High-Level Controls (HC), and Capital Adequacy (CA).

• Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience in portfolio management, investment analysis, or asset management.
• Proven track record of managing client portfolios or funds in a regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of global and regional capital markets, investment products, and portfolio construction techniques.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field is required. CFA, CAIA, or equivalent professional qualifications are highly preferred.
• Experience with in a CBB-licensed or equivalent regulated investment firm is an advantage.

This role may require prior CBB approval as an Approved Person depending on the specific responsibilities and level of authority. The successful candidate must meet the firm’s internal fit-and-proper standards and any applicable CBB requirements.
