We are seeking an experienced Application Server Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our IBM Web Sphere Application Server environments. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, security, and performance of enterprise applications while supporting development, testing, and production deployments.

- Install, configure, and maintain IBM Web Sphere Application Server (WAS) environments across development, testing, and production.
- Monitor, tune, and troubleshoot WAS servers to ensure optimal performance and high availability
. - Manage application deployments
, updates, and patches using CI/CD pipelines or manual processes. - Configure and maintain clustering, failover, and load balancing for WAS environments.
- Implement security measures including SSL, SSO, LDAP/AD integration, and role-based access control.
- Coordinate with development and QA teams for application deployment, testing, and problem resolution.
- Perform capacity planning and resource management to support scalable enterprise applications.
- Maintain documentation of environments, configurations, processes, and operational procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to JVM, application performance, logs, and middleware integration
. - Integrate WAS with other enterprise systems (databases, messaging systems like JMS/IBM MQ, APIs).
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in Web Sphere Application Server (WAS) Administrator role
- Experience with people management
- Assertive communications skills. Must show confidence in all communications
- Experience with application support would be an added advantage
- Share information with other support team members and with other technology teams
- Ability to plan and organize workload
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate appropriately to relevant stakeholders
- Experience with cloud deployments of Web Sphere (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud).
- Knowledge of Dev Ops practices and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Certification: IBM Certified System Administrator – Web Sphere Application Server.
