With a focus on customer centricity, strategic partnerships, and digital innovation, Bede aims to guide individuals toward growth and success by leveling the playing field for all.
What We Need From You Test Planning & Scenario Design- Design comprehensive test plans and test scenarios for every new build, feature release, bug fix, and app change on the Bede mobile application.
- Cover all critical user journeys including onboarding, identity verification, microfinance application, repayments, card management, remittances, wallet services, and any future product features.
- Develop test cases for functional, regression, smoke, exploratory, and edge‑case testing.
- Ensure test scenarios reflect real‑world usage patterns across different customer profiles, connection speeds, and device types.
- Maintain a structured and up‑to‑date test case library accessible to the team and the QA vendor.
- Execute manual testing across a range of iOS and Android devices, screen sizes, OS versions, and network conditions to ensure consistent app behaviour.
- Identify device‑specific or OS‑version‑specific defects and document them with full reproduction steps and device context.
- Maintain a device testing matrix and ensure coverage of the most commonly used devices in the Bede customer base.
- Test app behaviour on both stable Wi‑Fi and mobile data conditions, including low‑connectivity scenarios.
- Log, track, and manage all defects found during testing using the agreed defect management tool (e.g., JIRA), with clear severity classification, reproduction steps, screenshots, and expected vs. actual results.
- Provide structured, detailed build feedback reports to the Digital Operations Project Manager and the development vendor before any release is approved to go live.
- Re‑test resolved defects to confirm fixes are complete and have not introduced new issues (regression testing).
- Give a clear go / no‑go recommendation for each build based on testing outcomes, with supporting documentation.
- Track defect trends over time to identify recurring quality issues and feed these into improvement discussions with the vendor.
- Work closely with the external QA vendor on a day‑to‑day basis, aligning on test scope, priorities, timelines, and reporting standards.
- Review and validate the QA vendor’s test plans, test scripts, and test results to ensure they are thorough, accurate, and aligned with Bede’s business requirements.
- Flag gaps or inconsistencies in vendor testing coverage and work collaboratively to close them.
- Maintain clear records of all vendor testing activities and outcomes for internal reference and audit purposes.
- Conduct final pre‑release validation testing on the production‑ready build before every app release.
- Perform post‑deployment smoke testing immediately after a release goes live to confirm critical functions are working as expected.
- Support the team during UAT sessions with internal stakeholders and business users.
- Participate in sprint reviews and release sign‑off meetings to provide a testing perspective.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve the testing process, coverage, and efficiency, and propose these improvements to the Digital Operations Project Manager.
- Contribute to building and maintaining internal testing documentation, guides, and best practice frameworks.
- Over time, take ownership of evaluating and implementing a mobile app test automation framework — working with a vendor or building in‑house capability — to reduce manual testing effort on regression and repetitive scenarios.
- Stay current with mobile testing tools, automation frameworks (e.g., Appium, Selenium,…
