Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Work on starting up, operating, monitoring and shutting down all production and utility equipment of the plant through the DCS/PLC station. Operate and monitor process equipment ensuring compliance with safety standards. Monitor, maintain and optimize the process within operating parameters to achieve on‑spec production targets.
Conduct and adjust operating conditions to ensure safe operation and troubleshoot any process‑related anomalies or upsets for rectification as directed.
Liaise with the client regularly regarding feed volumes and specifications. Communicate effectively with all site personnel at all times and promptly elevate abnormality to the O&M Lead/Plant Supervisor/Manager.
Support and perform operations, mechanical and instrument jobs following established O&M instructions. Perform troubleshooting to restart compressors after unexpected shutdowns as directed by supervisor. Work under the direction of the O&M Lead to maintain safe operation of the plant and work processes.
Maintain daily production and operating logs, monitor process parameters and make adjustments when required to ensure the accuracy of data and compliance with production and HSE requirements.
Coordinate activities with maintenance personnel and shift work teams as required. Ensure that field operators perform the daily, weekly, monthly and scheduled checks for all production utility equipment as per the developed plan.
Ensure that all QHSE standards and procedures – e.g., LOTO, PTW, TBT, JHA – are correctly implemented in the field and documented in the control room. Act as a site permit coordinator ensuring compliance with procedural documentation.
Guide and support Field Operators on‑site as and when required. Maintain the plant updated P&IDs, Cause & Effect matrix, Fire & Gas detection system layout, Safety override register and other essential records in the control room.
Fulfill the ERT roles and responsibilities assigned by the site management. Comply with all Enerflex HR, Quality, HSE and all company policies, procedures, processes, work instructions and guidelines. Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
Qualifications- Minimum a technical degree in Industrial Processes, Chemical, Petroleum or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 years of experience, including 4 years in a similar role within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Strong familiarity with plant equipment, processes and all ongoing activities.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, information analysis and interpersonal skills.
- Good understanding of plant PFDs, P&IDs, drawings, Cause & Effect matrix and Fire & Gas detection system philosophy.
- Strong understanding of Maintenance Management System (Work orders, Preventive/Corrective/and Predictive Maintenance) methodology.
- Computer proficiency mandatory. Good working knowledge of typical Microsoft Office suite required.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills. Good English command, written and spoken. Arabic is a plus.
