- Assist in the preparation and baking of breads, pastries, cakes, and other bakery items.
- Follow standard recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications.
- Support the Sr. Chefand Bakery team in daily mise-en-place.
- Ensure all baked products are consistent in quality, taste, and appearance.
- Maintain proper storage, labeling, and rotation of all bakery ingredients.
- Uphold hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards in accordance with HACCP guidelines.
- Operate bakery equipment safely and efficiently (mixers, ovens, proofers, etc.).
- Assist with inventory control, stock replenishment, and waste reduction.
- Work closely with the team to ensure timely preparation for buffet setups, events, and daily service.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station at all times.
Culinary
Education:
A formal culinary education, such as a diploma or degree in baking and pastry arts, provides a strong foundation in baking techniques, ingredient handling, and food safety.
Baking Expertise:
Candidates should possess a solid understanding of various baking methods, including bread, pastry, and cake production, along with knowledge of different doughs, fillings, and decorating techniques.
Experience Level: Candidates should have at least 1-2 years of prior experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen. This experience helps in developing the necessary skills and familiarity with bakery operations.
Menu Knowledge:
Familiarity with international and regional bakery items, as well as the ability to adapt recipes to suit guest preferences, showcases a well-rounded approach to baking.
Attention to Detail:
Precise measurements, timing, and presentation are crucial in baking. A keen eye for detail ensures that baked goods consistently meet the hotel's quality standards.
Hygiene and Safety:
Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices is essential to maintain a safe and clean bakery environment, preventing cross-contamination and adhering to health standards.
Team Player Attitude:
The ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced kitchen environment, taking direction from senior chefs, and contributing positively to the team dynamic is highly valued.
