Retail Trainee Manager (Bahraini Only)

Full‑time, on‑site position located in Manama, B13, BH. This role offers significant career growth within the Lush Cosmetics retail environment.

• Customer Experience
  • Lead by example and offer a tailored customer experience through active listening, genuine curiosity, and expert brand and product knowledge.
  • Demonstrate open body language, enthusiasm, and create an engaging environment.
  • Be adaptable to different customer needs and adjust to varied traffic patterns.
  • Actively demonstrate products as part of the customer experience.
  • Use Random Acts of Kindness to brighten customers’ day when needed.
  • Educate customers about brand values including Fighting Animal Testing, Fresh Cosmetics, Ethical Buying, 100% Vegetarian, Handmade, and Naked Packaging.
  • Support the Manager in creating a shop environment that brings brand values to life, enabling staff to communicate the company’s messages.
  • Drive sales by staying aware of the shop floor, acting with urgency, and maintaining excellent communication with the team.
  • Assist the Manager in developing all team members, focusing on a 5‑star customer experience as the primary objective.
  • Help develop leaders to model best behaviours, coach during the Manager’s absence, and uphold high expectations.
• Team Involvement
  • Show appreciation and encouragement through feedback and praise; use the EEC model when giving feedback.
  • Contribute to an environment that values forward thinking, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Lead staff meetings and training sessions as a team leader.
  • Seek feedback, remain open to change, and grow skills to add value to the shop.
  • Show up to each shift with a positive attitude and a readiness to contribute.
  • Collaborate with all team members to create a vibrant atmosphere for both staff and customers.
• Succession Planning
  • Support the Manager by delegating tasks and projects with a focus on career growth and staff promotion opportunities.
  • Work with the Manager to set goals and vision for the store, prioritising customer experience, ethical selling, team development, sales, and profitability.
  • Aim to spend approximately 80% of the working week on the shop floor.
• Recruitment and Promotions
  • Take an active role in staffing the shop with top‑performing staff.
  • Follow a clear interview process, document decisions, and make timely, high‑standard hiring and promotion choices.
• Operations and Brand Standards
  • Ensure staff comply with company standards for time & attendance, product integrity, respectful workplace, health & safety.
  • Guarantee accuracy and efficiency on tills, cash/credit card handling, and opening/closing procedures.
  • Maintain appropriate cost control, including waste, staff costs, and other operational costs.
• Labor and Scheduling
  • Create business‑informed schedules based on traffic trends and tasks.
  • Provide Manager feedback on business needs and opportunities.
  • Organise shifts well in advance to support team wellbeing and work‑life balance.
  • Ensure the team takes full holiday allowance.
• Stock and Inventory
  • Maintain product displays at appropriate levels and rotate stock for freshness.
  • Oversee accurate inventory reporting, order completion, and delivery processing.
  • Delegate operational tasks to enable maximum management presence on the shop floor.
  • Train inventory staff on fresh standards and rotation.
  • Manage ordering to keep right products in right quantities at the right time.
• Visuals and Merchandising
  • Maintain store cleanliness using checklists and merchandise displays.
  • Merchandise displays per guidelines to create inviting, plentiful displays with fresh testers.
  • Adhere to Freshness Policy by managing stock levels in line with sales.
• Leadership
  • Support analysis of Management Accounts, Business Drivers, and other reports to meet goals.
  • Create motivating daily focuses incorporating business drivers and behaviours.
  • Maintain hourly awareness of shop business drivers and positively impact them through coaching and interactions.
  • Embodies the 5‑star customer experience at all times while forecasting sales and tracking trends.
  • Run the sales floor fluidly, positively influencing business drivers and sales.
  • Delegate and follow up on cleanliness standards using checklists and guidelines.
  • Conduct staff reviews twice a year and monthly goal‑setting sessions with each staff member.
• Development and Progression
  • Use reviews and monthly sessions to incorporate feedback and enhance development.
  • Employ Lush tools to complete shop projects and prepare for next career steps.
  • Learn from the team by sharing best practices and product knowledge.
  • Take ownership of responsibilities directed by the Support Team member.
  • Stay updated on company opportunities via internal bulletins and the website.
