The Geopolitical Intelligence Desk (GPID) Analyst is responsible for monitoring, assessing, and reporting on geopolitical, security, and operational developments worldwide. The analyst will produce high-quality written intelligence products that help clients understand emerging risks, anticipate disruptions, and make informed decisions. The role requires exceptional English writing skills, strong analytical judgment, and the ability to transform complex global events into concise, actionable intelligence.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor global geopolitical, security, economic, and societal developments through open-source intelligence (OSINT) and approved information sources.
- Research and analyze geopolitical events, armed conflicts, political instability, civil unrest, terrorism, crime trends, supply chain disruptions, and other developments.
- Produce daily intelligence reports, situation updates, alerts, strategic assessments, executive briefings, and client-focused analytical products.
- Identify emerging risks, trends, and indicators that may affect personnel, assets, operations, travel, or business continuity.
- Conduct source validation and information verification to ensure analytical accuracy and reporting integrity.
- Support client-specific intelligence requirements and priority intelligence requests.
- Maintain awareness of rapidly evolving global events and provide timely reporting during breaking incidents.
- Collaborate with team members and leadership to meet production deadlines and quality standards.
- Participate in report editing, peer review, and quality assurance processes.
Skills and Qualifications
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated ability to produce clear, concise, and professionally written analytical reports.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to synthesize large volumes of information into actionable intelligence assessments.
- Strong research skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency with Google Suite, particularly Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
- Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Security Studies, Intelligence Studies, Journalism, History, Economics, Regional Studies, or a related discipline.
- 1–3 years of experience in intelligence analysis, geopolitical risk analysis, journalism, strategic research, security operations, academia, or a related field.
- Experience producing written analytical products for professional audiences is highly desirable.
Experienced candidates are preferred; however, exceptional recent graduates with strong writing, research, and analytical capabilities will also be considered. Candidates should expect to complete analytical writing exercises as part of the selection process.
Beneficial Certifications and Technical Knowledge- Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) training or certifications.
- Intelligence analysis coursework or certifications.
- Regional expertise in areas such as Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, Africa, or Latin America.
- Familiarity with geopolitical risk, security risk, and intelligence reporting methodologies.
- Experience with social media monitoring, geolocation techniques, mapping platforms, and online research tools.
- Knowledge of international affairs, geopolitical trends, and global security developments.
- Experience utilizing AI-assisted research and analytical tools is advantageous.
