Overview
The list of duties and responsibilities, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification. Responsibilities- Provides a high level of customer service to all park users.
- Assists with park rentals; provides signage; ensures facility cleanliness and safety.
- Performs turf, landscape, tree, trail, and playground maintenance tasks.
- Conducts routine park checks and cleaning of park bathrooms and facilities; provides snow removal support as needed.
- Assists with the opening and closing (as applicable) of park gates every day of the week.
- Available for call in, especially to support snow removal, tree removal, and/or any urgent task as deemed by the Park Manager.
- Operates a wide array of equipment; ability to operate truck, trailer, mowers, and specialized equipment.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of park rules/regulations.
- Ability to provide top-flight customer service, including conflict management.
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Ability to travel within the City in order to conduct city business.
- Skilled in applying independent judgment, personal discretion, and resourcefulness in interpreting and applying policies and procedures.
- Ability to establish and maintain good personal relations with city employees and the public.
- Knowledge of power/hand tools and ability to troubleshoot different job tasks.
- Knowledge of maintaining mowers, line trimmers, leaf blowers, chainsaws, etc.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous park maintenance and mowing experience preferred.
