Job OverviewCalvert Masonry Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Estimator to support our growing Renovation & Restoration division. This is a full‑time, onsite role for an individual ready to take ownership of complex bids, from hard estimates to developmental pricing, while building relationships that contribute to long‑term business growth. With over a decade of experience, the ideal candidate will bring both technical estimating expertise and a valuable network of clients, particularly in the restoration sector.
If you’re detail‑oriented, organized, and passionate about building client trust through precise, thoughtful estimating, this role offers a rewarding path with potential for advancement to senior leadership.
- Perform thorough and accurate quantity surveys for restoration and renovation projects.
- Interpret access restrictions, site logistics, and sequencing that affect scope and pricing.
- Master internal custom estimating software and consistently produce professional bids.
- Accurately evaluate scaffold, equipment, and production cost requirements.
- Apply historical data, project conditions, and market/client dynamics to pricing strategies.
- Maintain well‑organized bid folders and detailed documentation of all scopes and assumptions.
- Follow up on bid submissions and maintain communication with clients throughout.
- Transition awarded bids to project management with full documentation and insight on long‑lead items.
- Support strategic equipment purchases and vendor/subcontractor coordination as needed.
- Participate in industry associations like ICRI to strengthen existing relationships and build new ones.
- Mentor and support junior estimating personnel and contribute to team development.
- 10+ years of experience in construction estimating, with strong emphasis on renovation, restoration and concrete repair.
- Familiarity with ICRI standards and concrete repair practices is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
- High school diploma or GED required; continuing education or certifications in construction, engineering, or estimating are beneficial.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain client trust and support business development goals.
