Generator Service Technician, DCC Communities

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure continuous customer access to innovation. The Generator Service Technician works within data center operations, troubleshooting electrical generator systems and related engine mechanical failures, and serves as the primary customer support contact.

• Know and follow all company safety rules, maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area, and participate in accident prevention activities.
• Respond to customer requests.
• Travel to designated sites and perform professional quality field service repairs consistent with company standards.
• Advise the Generator Service Manager of parts needed for necessary repairs.
• Keep the Manager continually apprised and utilise leadership to assist in answering customer questions.
• Document detailed, complete, and legible descriptions of all repair operations performed.
• Accurately record time, expenses, and mileage.
• Travel 80‑90% of the time, and may work overtime, weekends, or holidays on short notice.
• Lift up to 40 lbs frequently and push/pull a maximum force of 40 lbs.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) — protective glasses, gloves, and footwear as required.

• High school or equivalent diploma.
• 1+ years of direct experience operating, maintaining, or troubleshooting generator systems.

• 2+ years of data center or mission‑critical facility experience.
• Training and experience with industrial power generation equipment.
• Knowledge of engines, generators, and load‑transfer equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and mechanical equipment.

Compensation
Base pay ranges from $59,600/year to $133,200/year depending on geographic market. Total compensation may include equity, sign‑on payments, and benefits.
