Mechanical Engineer - Madison Heights, VA

Shibuya Hoppmann has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Engineer in our Madison Heights, VA Production Facility.

Hoppmann was started in 1955 and was purchased by SHIBUYA in 2005. In Virginia, we manufacture centrifugal feeders, prefeeders, and assembly machinery. We currently have 110 employees and are looking to hire more for our growing company.

Role

Description:

This is a full‑time on‑site role for a Mechanical Engineer specializing in assembly machine experience, located in MADISON HEIGHTS, VIRGINIA. The Mechanical Engineer will design, develop, and implement mechanical systems for assembly machines, ensuring efficiency and quality standards are met. Responsibilities include creating machine designs using SOLIDWORKS software, conducting research and development for innovative solutions, managing projects from concept to completion, and optimizing manufacturing processes through collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Mechanical Engineering and Machine Design to develop and execute projects effectively
  • Hands‑on experience with SOLIDWORKS tools for creating precise mechanical drawings and models
  • Strong background in Project Management to plan, execute, and oversee project deliverables
  • Experience in Research and Development (R&D) for innovation and continuous improvement in machine performance
  • Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering preferred with 5 years’ experience
  • Previous experience with assembly machines and manufacturing processes is highly preferred
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer
