Summary The Sr. Fab Layout Engineer plays a key role in designing, planning, and executing tool installations and facility expansions that support Micron’s world‑class semiconductor manufacturing operations. This role partners closely with cross‑functional engineering, planning, and manufacturing teams to develop accurate, efficient layouts, resolve installation issues, and ensure the seamless integration of new tools and equipment. This is a high‑impact opportunity to shape factory capacity, enable innovation, and support Micron’s mission to transform how the world uses information.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with Planning, Process Engineering, SPMO, Manufacturing, AMHS, Facilities, and Management to design and implement layouts for new tools, tool changes, and daily operational needs.
- Resolve layout‑related issues during tool installations by partnering with tool owners, AMHS, and supporting teams.
- Track installation progress, ensuring adequate clearances, move‑in paths, and available space for future requirements.
- Release updated MOR/SRX layouts periodically and review with management and partner groups.
- Produce specialized layout plots (e.g., color‑coded tool phases or department‑specific views) to support engineering and operational decision‑making.
- Maintain consistency, accuracy, and documentation integrity across fab layout updates.
- Support facility expansion planning by identifying optimal tool placement and infrastructure alignment.
- Provide expert guidance on layout feasibility, space allocation, and integration risks.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent professional experience. - Technical
Skills:
Proven experience in layout creation and implementation in a manufacturing environment; proficiency in AutoCAD. - Core Competencies:
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication/collaboration abilities.
- Advanced Education/
Experience:
Master’s degree or significant practical experience in engineering or related fields. - Industry Knowledge:
Experience in semiconductor fabs, manufacturing environments, or industry‑standard tools and equipment. - Leadership &
Collaboration:
Demonstrated success leading large‑scale projects and building strong cross‑functional partnerships.
