Weapons Launcher Test Engineer
Location: Manassas, VA
Pay: $46.64/hour
Workplace: Fully on-site (flexibility based on tasking)
The Weapons Launcher Test Engineer will support Test & Evaluation activities for the Common Weapon Launcher (CWL) and Multi-Tube Weapon Simulator (MTWS) programs supporting U.S. and allied submarines. The role focuses on hands-on testing, integration, verification, troubleshooting, and field support in both laboratory and operational environments. You will work within a fast-paced, multi-organization team that includes Navy stakeholders, government labs, and industry partners.
Responsibilities- Support CWL and MTWS testing, integration, verification, and validation activities
- Develop and execute detailed test procedures and test cases
- Use electrical measurement tools such as oscilloscopes and multimeters
- Identify, analyze, document, and troubleshoot software, firmware, and hardware defects
- Configure lab environments using drawings and port maps
- Support formal and informal test events in labs and at customer sites
- Perform installations, removals, and system validation of tactical systems
- Coordinate with engineering, logistics, and field service teams
- Provide clear status updates and technical documentation
- Travel intermittently to labs and submarine home ports (domestic and international)
- Bachelor’s or Technology degree in Engineering or equivalent experience (4 years) plus 2 years related experience
- Solid foundation in test engineering principles and software testing/analysis
- Familiarity with network configurations, operations, and basic commands
- Experience with electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters)
- Working knowledge of object-oriented programming, system processes, or scripting
- Strong written/oral communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in multi-organization teams
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds
- Navy or submarine experience is a strong plus
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship is required.
