ft. facility. Join us to make a tangible impact on mission-critical technology while enjoying Northern Virginia's vibrant community.
Position: You’ll perform a key analytical and modeling role in supporting the development, integration, and performance assessment of our aerospace weapons systems. You will contribute to the understanding of system behavior in transportation, carriage, and flight environments, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure that the system structural performance both statically and dynamically aligns with program requirements.
- Develop and maintain high fidelity Finite Element Models (FEM) to analyze system structural margins and modal behavior across expected environments and load cases.
- Perform structural optimization to minimize system mass while maintaining required margins of safety and acceptable modal frequencies.
- Review and interpret test data (ground, lab, or flight-related) to validate models and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist engineering leadership in diagnosing performance issues, assessing trade-offs, and refining system behavior.
- Prepare clear technical documentation, analysis summaries, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to process improvement by recommending analytical methods, tools, or workflow enhancements.
- Collaborate with technical leadership and staff across various engineering disciplines.
- Participated in the dispositioning of manufacturing defects found in production.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years in structural design, optimization and FEM modeling
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- Proficiency with simulation/modeling environments (e.g., ANSYS, Creo, Creo Simulation, MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or other analysis tools) of metallic structures.
- Ability to interpret engineering requirements, specifications, and relevant aerospace documentation standards.
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to accuracy, validation, and engineering rigor.
- Understanding of aerospace vehicle modeling and multi-disciplinary system analysis and optimization.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to meet security or background-screening requirements.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented engineering environment.
Desired Skills:
- Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with weapon systems or other aerospace/defense systems analysis.
- Exposure to guidance, navigation, and control concepts.
- Proficiency with simulation or modeling environments (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or other analysis tools).
What We Offer:
Beyond competitive pay, we offer:
- Full benefits from day one: medical, dental and vision
- 401(k) with generous company match and immediate vesting
