Firefighter ALS

Salary: $73,182.72 - $93,200.64
Note: CMFRD Firefighters who hold an EMT Intermediate or Nationally Registered EMT Paramedic certification, have successfully completed the field training program, and maintain active status are eligible to participate in the Advanced Life Support Pay Incentive Program. This incentive program pays $3.00 hourly / $7,488.00 annually; it is also calculated into your retirement. Please note that the salary listed above includes this ALS Pay Incentive;

however, there is also the potential to receive an additional $4.00/hour "ride pay" if you are performing as the Lead Medic on a Medic unit. This "ride pay" is not incorporated into the salary shown above.

Essential Job Functions:

• Responsible for protecting life and property by performing fire suppression, emergency medical services, and related emergency response.
• Position may drive fire apparatus and operate fire pumps and/or aerial devices in emergency situations.

This classification is distinguished from Firefighter BLS in that incumbents are certified to provide advanced life support emergency medical care.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Firefighter II
• VA EMT-Intermediate or VA EMT-Paramedic or National Registry Paramedic
• CPR
• Possess a valid VA driver's license
• High school diploma or GED
