Job SummaryThe Warehouse Manager is responsible and accountable for the efficient daily operations of the Warehouse. The Warehouse Manager will also handle warehouse and dispensing operations including establishing operational procedures. In addition, they will prepare, monitor, and maintain all department operations such as inventory control, time and resource management, training, safety, shift scheduling, employee motivation, disciplinary action, and proper disposal of materials.
Job Duties & Responsibilities- Organize and direct activities encompassing warehousing, transportation, and inventory control.
- Coordinate activities to ensure efficient use of warehouse space, resources, and improve material flow.
- Provide daily direction of warehouse personnel to meet customer requirements and ensure safe, clean, and efficient operations.
- Identify resources in the warehouse area to assist customers.
- Maintain inventory control including material transfers, cycle counts, and stock status/reorder point activities.
- Support cycle count program to ensure accurate inventory counts.
- Develop programs to train and motivate personnel for increased effectiveness.
- Develop shipping and receiving schedules and assignments to assure efficient operations.
- Process paperwork for the warehouse, including SOPs, deviation notices, and discrepancy statements.
- Direct operations of the warehouse personnel to achieve prescribed goals and develop a productive staff.
- Develop a daily plan for preventive maintenance and equipment allocation.
- Work with other departmental management.
- Ensure all records and reports regarding warehouse activity are prepared and maintained.
- Evaluate housekeeping and security levels daily and review operations to maintain a neat, secure warehouse.
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed and operators comply with GMP, FDA, OSHA, and MSDS standards.
- Manage and coordinate all DEA related activities including security controls, and issue, maintain and track DEA 222 forms.
- Assist Supply Chain Manager in planning space use to meet prescribed standards.
- Ensure stock rotation, conduct cycle counts, and physical inventories.
- Provide a level of delivery service that meets customer expectations.
- Understand supply chain operations, ERP systems, material management, bill of materials, inventory controls and product flow.
- Take rapid and disciplined action and respect diversity.
- Attend all interdepartmental meetings and partner with Corporate Safety on monthly Safety Committee meetings.
- Investigate shorts, overages and damages through physical checking/counting and system inventory.
- Warehousing controlled environment experience.
- Firm conceptual and practical understanding of supply chain operations, emphasis on ERP systems.
- Experience writing SOPs/work instructions.
- Receiving and shipping experience.
- Inventory and cycle count experience.
- Experienced with warehouse truck scheduling.
- Forklift certified.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- BS in Science, pharmacy or related degree.
- 7+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, and procurement.
- Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging operations highly desirable.
- Minimum 5+ years leading warehouse teams including hiring, interviewing, performance reviews.
- Warehouse environment.
- Medium to heavy physical exertion.
- Stand for extended periods of time.
- Lift 25-50 pounds.
- Repetitive/sustained stooping and bending frequently.
- Walk frequently.
- Wear protective clothing and comply with gowning requirements.
- Work around moving equipment and machinery in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- May work or be assigned to a different shift.
- Required to work 5 days a week, 10-hour days, availability after hours, on weekends and holidays.
