Senior Registered Nurse

The ADC is a well‑established agency in Prince William County, VA. We provide safety and security for our staff and the individuals in our care while protecting the residents of Prince William County. This position will involve direct contact with inmates housed at the facility.

As a Senior Registered Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and supervising nursing staff, ensuring efficient work schedules, and providing patient care. You will support and mentor lower-level nursing staff while delivering critical hands‑on care and directly impacting patient outcomes and staff performance in our facility.

• Coordinate, assign, and monitor the work schedules and assignments of nursing staff to ensure optimal coverage and patient care.
• Assess staffing needs and provide direct supervision and support to lower-level staff as required.
• Deliver patient care, including medication administration, treatment implementation, vital sign monitoring, physical therapy assistance, and execution of medical procedures.
• Conduct comprehensive mental and physical patient assessments through interviews and diagnostic tools.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including healthcare plans, treatments, and case histories; ensure compliance with all protocols and reporting requirements.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, medication management, and counseling.
• Provide prompt emergency interventions related to patient health needs.
• Perform additional duties as necessary to support the healthcare team and facility operations.

High School diploma or G.E.D. plus a degree or diploma from a state approved professional nursing program and 2 years of related experience.

Registered Nurse License, CPR/First Aid Certification. Must pass local, state and federal background checks, have a valid driver’s license, and pass a pre‑employment medical assessment.

• The successful candidate will have knowledge of supervisory and customer service principles, as well as be familiar with medical terminology and nursing principles.

10 HOUR NIGHT SHIFT (6:00pm-4:00am, 8:15pm-6:15am)

• $5,000.00 Hiring Bonus
• $1.50 Shift Differential for applicable hours worked

Hiring bonus will be paid out in two (2) equal installments. Fifty percent (50%) of the incentive will be paid after ninety (90) days of employment and fifty percent (50%) will be paid following the completion of the 12‑month probationary period. Probationary employees that voluntarily terminate employment with the County, shall repay the net amount (minus state and federal taxes) of the first bonus installment via a deduction from their annual leave payout and/or remit payment of any remaining balance within thirty (30) days following separation of employment from the County.
