Role Overview We are seeking a Quality Engineering Manager to lead the implementation and execution of the Quality Management System for construction and engineering projects. This role involves developing project-specific Quality Control Plans, managing quality documentation, and leading inspection processes to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) on assigned projects.
* Develop and manage project-specific Quality Control Plans aligned with contract specifications and customer requirements.
* Manage document controls, nonconforming work, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
* Establish and lead the Three-Phase Quality Control Process, including preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections.
* Perform and oversee field inspections to verify workmanship, installations, and materials comply with project requirements.
* Collect and analyze inspection data, preparing daily and weekly quality reports.
* Initiate, track, and close Discrepancy Notices and Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA).
* Manage the punch list identification and closeout process.
* Review engineering deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and submittals, for constructability and compliance.
* Serve as a direct quality interface with owners, project teams, and other stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
*
* Education:
** Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Controls Engineering, or Architectural Engineering.
*
* Experience:
** 4+ years of relevant construction experience as a Project Superintendent, QC Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer, or Construction Manager. A minimum of 2 years of direct experience as a Quality Control Manager is required. Experience applying the USACE/NAVFAC Three-Phase Quality Control System is necessary.
** Technical
Skills:
** Strong knowledge of project Quality Management Systems and experience reviewing RFPs, specifications, construction drawings, and submittals. Ability to read and interpret complex construction documents. Ability to pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience supporting complex, mission-critical, data center, or large-scale construction projects.
* Experience coordinating third-party testing and inspection agencies.
* Experience with quality audits and operational risk management.
* Background working across multidisciplinary construction environments.
* Quality-related certifications or formal training in construction quality management.
