The AWS Data Center Security team seeks a creative, innovative, results‑oriented Program Manager in the Northern Virginia/Greater Washington D.C. area to lead security and security‑systems projects and programs in the data center environment. The candidate will manage interdependent projects with regional impact, interpret Threat Assessments and AWS Physical Security Standards, and collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure each data center meets AWS’s high physical security standards.
Key Job Responsibilities- Project management for physical security systems related to new construction, expansion, and retrofit projects.
- Prepare physical security project lifecycle management documents, including bid packages, specifications, drawings, code compliance, vendor management, budget, change orders, and close‑out documentation.
- Maintain contemporary knowledge of emerging physical security technologies and assess their applicability within the AWS program.
- Provide Subject Matter Expert support for leadership to make strategic decisions regarding technology and procedure.
- Balance performance metrics such as vendor service delivery performance, actual spend vs. budget variance, cost‑reduction goal attainment, post‑installation defect rates, and program analysis.
- Manage vendors for onboarding, RFQ, bid, contract, QA/QC, and support processes.
- Accurately manage multi‑million dollar budgets for infrastructure projects and initiatives.
- Collaborate across teams and provide support for global initiatives.

Basic Qualifications- Experience as a Program Security Officer, Security Specialist, or Security Manager, interpreting and implementing requirements within personnel, industrial, and physical security disciplines and overseeing security operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in physical security project management.
- 5+ years of experience in security operations in technology, manufacturing, or similar industries, including access control systems, CCTV, and defense‑in‑depth strategies.
- BA/BS degree or higher in a related field.
- Ability to communicate and brief effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders regarding physical security standards and system designs.
- Experience delivering physical security projects or programs within an enterprise setting.
- Background in Physical Security Design, Security Systems Deployment, Physical Security Operations, Security Architecture, or Construction Management.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or physical security design tools.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders without formal authority, leading cross‑functional teams across geographies and business units.
