Power Distribution Technician

A Power Distribution Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing power distribution systems and equipment, ensuring their efficient and safe operation. Your expertise in electrically powered heavy equipment will be crucial in supporting our diverse range of projects and maintaining a fleet of electrical equipment to be “rent ready” at all times. • Perform troubleshooting activities to detect and resolve electrical connectivity issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximize equipment availability
• Testing and diagnosing power distribution equipment in compliance with safety regulations in a shop environment
• Conduct inspections and diagnostics to identify electrical malfunctions or system failures, using appropriate tools and testing equipment
• Perform repairs or replacements of faulty electrical parts, wiring, connectors, relays, switches, and other components, adhering to the manufacturer's specifications
• Keep accurate records of all repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks performed, by logging in Rental Man rental tracking software
• Work with a variety of electrical equipment, including but not limited to transformers, circuit breakers, I-Line Panels, Load Banks, Auto Transfer Switches, Disconnects, controls, and distribution panels
• Conduct regular preventive maintenance routines to ensure optimal performance and longevity of electrical systems and equipment
• Monitor electrical systems and equipment to identify potential hazards or safety concerns, promptly addressing any issues to maintain a safe working environment
• Keep detailed records of maintenance and repair activities, documenting performed tasks, materials used, and any necessary follow-up actions
• Stay up to date with industry regulations and advances in electrical technology through continuous learning and professional development opportunities
• Assist with general mechanical tasks and repairs as needed, demonstrating a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges
• Demonstrate active participation in Herc Rentals Safety Culture, always prioritizing the safety of team members and customers alike
• Support all team members
• Learn and follow all company procedures and protocols

• Proven track record with a minimum 1-3 years of electromechanical experience within theheavy equipment and/or construction markets preferred
• Computer skills to support entering information into systems
• High School Diploma or GED
• A valid driver’s license
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints
• Strong understanding of electrical codes, safety practices, and regulations
• Experience with electrical testing and measurement equipment
• Ability to effectively troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues
• Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina, as this role may involve standing, bending,and lifting heavy objects
• Multi-Tasking individual who uses project management skills to accomplish goals
• Must react to changing business needs
• Solid and proven computer skill set (knowledge od MS Office is preferred)

Pay Range:$22/hr - $34/hr
