Installs, performs preventative maintenance, troubleshoots, and repairs access control, closed circuit television (CCTV), and intrusion detection systems (IDS) cabling and equipment; follows blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans to ensure equipment is up-to-date and operational, meeting required local, State, and Federal codes.

Receives and evaluates work orders and requests, investigates and troubleshoots problems, establishes priorities, and coordinates with contractors and vendors to make necessary repairs and ensure timely resolution of service issues.

• Strong customer service skills and ability to work with customers and onsite personnel to perform service on customer security systems.
• Program and troubleshoot security systems to ensure proper operations and connectivity.
• Inspect installation sites and study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to determine material requirements and verify installation procedures are followed.
• Test installed equipment and provide basic programming, such as adding card readers, cameras, and alarm points to any system.
• Keep current on new products and developments.
• Research security methods, systems, or materials; make recommendations and assist with procurement of equipment and systems; request orders for replacement parts.
• Assist with budget projections for project work, provide project coordination within approved budgets, and obtain quotes for repair and/or installation of systems.
• Coordinate the work of outside contractors to ensure all work meets requirements.
• Review plans for all access control, intrusion video surveillance, and safety alarm work related to new construction to ensure compliance.
• Help train other personnel in the use of security systems.
• Maintain appropriate records as required.

• 10 years’ experience installing, programming, and maintaining security systems.
• Prefer experience with Hirsch, Bosch, and Lenel equipment.
