Position Title: Junior Software Engineer

Location: Manassas VA (Hybrid - 1-2x per week on-site, otherwise remote)

Clearance Requirement: Secret Clearance (Preferred)

Overview:

We are seeking a Junior Software Engineer with a strong background in Linux environments and expertise in Java Spring, Python, Ansible, and BASH scripting. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for problem-solving, a commitment to high-quality software development, and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Prior Department of Defense (DOD) experience or an active Secret Clearance is highly preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and maintain software solutions using Java Spring and Python.
  • Automate deployment and configuration tasks using Ansible.
  • Write and optimize BASH scripts for system automation and management.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in Linux-based systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement software solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
  • Document software processes and ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Support integration with DOD-specific systems and ensure compliance with security protocols.

    • Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficiency in Linux systems administration.
  • Hands-on experience with Java Spring, Python, Ansible, and BASH scripting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex software issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

    • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Prior experience working on DOD-related projects or systems.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of secure software development practices and standards.
