Neurohospitalist

The Ayer Neuroscience Institute at Hartford Health Care is seeking a dedicated Neurohospitalist to join Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 249-bed acute-care community hospital in Manchester, CT. In this role, the provider will deliver comprehensive inpatient care, consultations, and limited ambulatory clinic sessions as part of an expanding, research-focused neuroscience team. • Manchester Memorial Hospital is a 249-bed acute-care community hospital located in Manchester, CT about 10 minutes east of Hartford, CT.
• The Ayer Neuroscience Institute at Hartford Health Care is a rapidly expanding Institute with a focus on comprehensive patient care, academics, and research.
• Inpatient services include attending coverage on the general neurology service, or neurology consult service (or some combination of the above).

Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, manage, and treat patients with a variety of neurological disorders.
• Provide inpatient consultation for neurology patients.
• Conduct one half-day ambulatory clinic sessions during weeks of inpatient coverage.
• Actively participate in neurology didactic sessions, virtual attendance at Hartford Hospital Grand Rounds and other teaching lectures as appropriate.
• Participates in monthly Neurohospitalist Lecture Series.
• Participate in other activities such as clinical research, quality improvement, patient experience initiatives, resident and faculty interviews, and lectures to professional or public audiences as agreed upon with the faculty member and the Chief of Neurology.

Shift & Schedule

• This is a salaried position
• 24 weeks of inpatient coverage per year, coverage being defined as a full week 7 AM Monday - 7 AM Monday, including a share of evening call coverage

Qualifications

• BC/BE Neurology
