Assistant Professor/Program Coordinator of Paralegal Studies
Location: CT State Manchester – 60 Bidwell Street, Manchester, CT 06040
Level: Assistant Professor, tenure track position
Hours: Full‑time, 10‑month (30 credit hours per academic year)

All teaching faculty members shall prepare and teach college‑approved courses, develop syllabi, maintain courses, interact with students, peers, and external agencies, and perform divisional responsibilities in selecting texts and related resources. The Program Coordinator shall recruit, advise, and retain students; schedule courses; hire and evaluate faculty; establish partnerships; arrange internships; assess and improve the program; and perform administrative functions as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Responsibilities- Teach thirty (30) credit hours per academic year across lecture, hybrid, or online delivery modes.
- Develop and update course syllabi and reading lists.
- Evaluate and assess student learning and provide academic advising.
- Plan and execute program‑related events, curriculum development, and program reviews.
- Recruit, advise, and retain students; schedule courses; hire and evaluate faculty; establish partnerships; supervise internships.
- Participate in committees, task forces, and professional meetings, including evening or weekend events.
- Attend convocations and commencement ceremonies and maintain attendance and participation in required meetings.
- Master’s degree in Legal Studies or a related discipline.
- Four (4) years of college teaching experience (96+ credit hours).
- Proven ability to work effectively with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong IT literacy, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
- Experience teaching Paralegal or Business Law classes.
- Experience with curriculum development, program assessment, and evaluation.
- Experience supervising paralegals, faculty, or staff.
- Experience overseeing cooperative work‑learning experiences.
- Experience using technology to enhance the learning environment (e.g., Blackboard, online instruction, or other modalities/software).
Minimum Salary: $70,965 (approximate annual). Salary will reflect qualifications such as education and job‑related experience.
