IICAPS Counselor
Employment Type: Full-Time, 40 hours/week
Schedule: Monday-Friday;
Day Shift, 1-2 evenings required a week.
Location: IICAPS, Manchester, CT
Program: Intensive In-Home Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Service (IICAPS)
About the ProgramProvides comprehensive community-based clinical, case management, and case coordination services for children and adolescents aged 3 to 18, with a focus on stabilization, strength-based assessments, and relationship improvement.
Responsibilities- Conduct client intake, evaluations, assessments, referrals, and releases.
- Inform clients and families about program completion requirements and rights.
- Provide individual, family, educational, and wellness counseling.
- Use model tools, complete discharge summaries with clients and families.
- Apply model concepts and principles to aid clients in symptom management.
- Facilitate skill practice opportunities for clients and families.
- Maintain family and collateral contacts to ensure client-centered services.
- Assess and involve natural supports in treatment planning and discharge.
- Provide case management, clinical, and crisis intervention supports; coordinate with therapist and supervisor during crises.
- Arrange aftercare clinical and non-clinical services.
- Demonstrate competency in child development and provide trauma-sensitive, culturally competent care.
- Document services and contacts in EHR; maintain accurate data entry.
- Participate in team meetings and agency trainings.
- Other duties as related to the position.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in human services required. - Experience:
Minimum 2 years in a mental health setting working with children and families; experience in home/community environment preferred. - Licensure/Certification:
Valid driver’s license. - Training:
Will attend required program trainings.

$20.65/hour and up, commensurate with experience.
