Multi-Unit Team Leader at H&R Block. You’ll provide leadership over three tax offices, guiding customer-centric teams to accelerate the seasonal tax business. Prior tax preparation experience is not required. This role starts as a flexible part-time schedule in the fall and transitions to full-time from January to April, including evenings and weekends as needed. The role is in-person and not remote.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership and development of associates across three tax offices
- Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates
- Manage office staffing, operations, and logistics for multiple offices with support from Associate Team Leaders
- Partner with the District General Manager (DGM) to create and implement office-level growth plans and client growth targets, including developing local partnerships and managing office community involvement
- Assist DGM in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office associate positions
- Conduct timely performance reviews and address performance concerns in collaboration with the Associate Relations Center
- Build an engaging team environment by training and coaching associates and recognizing outstanding contributions
- Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates
- Create associate work schedules across all offices and ensure accurate timekeeping and labor management
- Travel between offices as required
- Prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment
- People management experience with demonstrated ability to grow and develop associates
- Aptitude for executing growth plans and leading toward a growth culture
- Strong decision-making and judgment skills; ability to function in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-centric mindset
- Computer proficiency with MS Office
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or a high school diploma with equivalent experience
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns)
