The Radiology RN Clinician will be responsible for representing ECHN to the radiology intervention patient in both outpatient and inpatient settings, reporting to the Manager of Vascular and Cardiology Services and the Team Leader of Interventional Radiology. Duties include assessment of patients pre‑intra and post‑procedure, assisting the Radiologist in diagnostic radiology testing (e.g., interventional angiography, US‑guided thoracentesis, CT‑guided biopsies), administering moderate sedation and other medications, and participating in departmental operations such as quality improvement, policy maintenance, billing, education, and financial resource management.

Competencies
  • Proficient in cardiac monitoring, administration of moderate sedation, and IV competency.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills for interfacing with staff and instructing patients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES And RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assess the patient’s condition and care needs by collecting accurate, thorough data on admission and ongoing basis.
  • Identify actual and potential nursing diagnoses by analyzing assessment data.
  • Determine patient and family learning needs and arrange resources for education.
  • Complete timely, accurate documentation of all nursing processes.
  • Plan nursing actions to ensure individualized, multidisciplinary care.
  • Initiate and update discharge plans from admission forward.
  • Delegate tasks to team members and mentor peers.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions, prescribed medication, and advanced nursing skills.
  • Coordinate patient/family education and develop resources.
  • Administer medications and IV fluids accurately per policy.
  • Anticipate emergency situations and respond appropriately.
  • Evaluate plan of care and modify as needed.
Qualifications Education/Certification
  • State of Connecticut licensed Registered Nurse.
  • Basic Cardiac/Cardiopulmonary Life Support and ACLS certification.
Experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Critical Care experience or equivalent.
