Job Profile Title

Research Investigator, Senior

Job Description Summary

This leadership role oversees and designs advanced experiments and assists the principal investigator in developing a research program in a specific area of study. The role plays a crucial part in research products including development, implementation, and data analysis. It involves assessing proposed projects through feasibility studies to provide input on viability, efficiency, timeline, and study design. During implementation, this role will supervise and perform the project, oversee workflow and productivity of lab personnel, and provide training as necessary.

Responsibilities include data analysis, manuscript preparation, and presenting research findings through various forums.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform data analysis and other aspects of quantitative and qualitative research as well as theoretical research
  • Review, edit, format, and write manuscripts for publication and grant proposals
  • Assist with and often direct the design and implementation of original surveys
  • Perform data collection and management
  • Administer literature reviews
  • Other research and administrative duties
  • Oversee laboratory operations
  • Assist PI, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows with experimental procedures and analysis, including grant development
  • Conduct biochemical and molecular biology assays, including chemical extractions, PCR, RT-PCR, sub-cloning, and Western blotting
  • Protocol development
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Philosophy, and 5 to 7 years of postdoctoral experience is required.
