Food Service Cashier
Location:

- Stock supplies.
- Portion and package food items.
- Serve customers.
- Operate a cash register.
- Count money and balance a cash drawer.
- Complete cash register worksheets and associated paperwork.
- Maintain overall cleanliness of cafeteria and kitchen.
- English reading and verbal communication skills.
- Write and follow written instructions in English.
- Basic math skills such as addition and subtraction.
- Efficiently and accurately operate a cash register.
- Consistently exhibit considerate interpersonal relations with co‑workers and maintain a strong customer service attitude.
- Attend monthly department meetings.
- Attend monthly departmental in‑services.
- Wear uniform following ECHN and department uniform policy, including appropriate hair covering at all times.
- Wash hands and wear gloves following serve‑safe and state regulatory requirements.
- Complete all required paperwork (cashier worksheets, over‑ring sheets, etc.).
- Demonstrate willingness to assist co‑workers and adjust daily work routines to the needs of the department.
- Set up, restock, and maintain a clean workstation following all sanitation and safety requirements; label, date, and properly rotate stock.
- Complete work as outlined in the position job flow within the scheduled shift time.
- Cash out customers accurately and in a timely manner.
- Complete annual departmental serve‑safe food safety training.
- Follow all departmental policies and procedures for cash handling.
- Balance and perform cash‑out process according to established procedures; must keep actual cash within .5% of the z‑reading 90% of the time.
- Complete ECHN annual mandatory education in a timely manner.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred but not required. - Experience:
Two or more years of cashier experience preferred.
