Retail Assistant Manager – AGAINST ALL ODDS

Responsible for supporting the Store Manager regarding all aspects of the retail store including sales, customer service, operations, human resources, training, visual merchandising, and loss prevention.

• Customer Service – ensures each customer receives the highest level of service.
• Human Resources – notifies the Store Manager of hiring needs, assists in finding new employees, communicates company discount policy, controls payroll budget, schedules staff efficiently, follows progressive discipline procedures, documents corrective actions, stays aware of loss prevention, shares staff and customer ideas, understands promotion details, makes deposits correctly, knows opening/closing procedures, reconciles cash drawer, issues refunds, documents petty cash, ensures merchandise accuracy, conducts spot checks, maintains displays, keeps sales floor organized, manages daily activity of the store according to company policy.
• General Store Operations – manages daily activity of the sales floor, backroom, and cash register area according to company policy.

• Strong managerial skills.
• Strong selling and communication skills.
• Excellent product knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of company history, corporate structure, and target market.
• Knowledge of competition and their prices.
• Strong knowledge of POS systems.

• Ability to work varied days/hours.
• Ability to climb ladders.
• Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 lbs.

• High school or equivalent.
• One or more years of store management experience in a retail environment.
